I just got to hear about this trip from Jamie on a walk this morning. I feel like choosing to go “home” when it was calling you is a very unbounded thing to do ❤️ both of you inspire me so much.
So much to unpack here (no pun intended) .... I am fascinated by the push-pull of extended travel; the desire to be away and then the yen for "home" ... even if home doesn't quite exist. It sounds like your return to NYC was a pause in your travels, though, and not the conclusion. I am curious to learn more about how you processed this.
That's interesting - I hadn't thought about it as a pause, but it certainly is, given that I intend to keep traveling, I just don't know exactly when or where. The unpacking is in progress, but it seems to have been a turning point for me from wondering what I need, to knowing what I need. The unpacking that continues is now, what to do about it and where to go from here. I guess that's the part of this story that is still unwritten!
