There are no words for how much I love this post. Cortney, you have done it all, and it has been no less than a hero's journey. I can so identify with your feelings from a year ago and I admire your courage in unequivocally, unapologetically saying "yes" to yourself. Your journey has so much wisdom, comfort and reassurance for those hovering on the precipice.

I think society just trains us to want the obvious things and then to damn near kill ourselves in pursuit of those obvious things when we do not even WANT those obvious things. I am thinking of Plato's cave and how you walked out of it. You have so much to share with others. Please keep writing about it.

So much wisdom and reclamation in your words and journey. I love how you're building your life and work on your terms. I 1000% know that the inner ups and downs are rocky and wild, but I hope you're experiencing it all as a beautiful, joyful ride. Rooting for you, and thank you for sharing your insightful, poignant words and lessons.

Courtney our paths only crossed a few times at “the job” and when you left I was shocked. Reading this now.. I can relate so much. My sabbatical is less than 2 months away.. I’m going in curious

Congrats on making it to the sabbatical! You've put in deep, quality time and I know you've given a lot of yourself. I hope your sabbatical gives you time and space to recenter and renew ❤️

I love that you’ve shared your journey, Cortney. I’m so glad you’ve taken the time to remind yourself, and your supporters who always knew you could do it, just how far you’ve come. Society tells us that if we give our energy and talent to climbing a mountain for someone else that we will feel fulfilled. Not true. Only by climbing our own mountain will we be truly satisfied. Good for you for letting passion be your guide, and trusting the universe to remove the obstacles in your way. Keep climbing!

Thanks so much for your encouragement and support, Nigel! Here's to climbing our own mountain ... or, if we choose, to just float down our own river.
