"the same feeling of flow when I move - especially in nature, when I draw or doodle, when I paint, when I write, and when I have meaningful one-on-one conversations." This seems to be universal, among people of a certain ilk, anyway. :-) Glad I found your Substack.

Aww, thanks! I'm so glad you found it too. I feel we may be of that ilk, you're referring to!

Yup! Following your journey with GREAT interest as it is one I myself aspire to take.

I love that your mom gave you the name Contrary Cortney when you were a child and now you are fully claiming it!

It has taken me a little while to claim it. I feel like it was often said in a negative context, like, "why are you being so difficult?"

When you were born, you screamed and screamed and screamed, and the nurses looked at you and just shook their heads and smiled. I called you contrary Cortney for that same reason. I never did it in a negative way because I realized being contrary was you. Would I have liked you to be less difficult to go along with what I wanted? No. Because then it wouldn’t have been fun!, Although I probably never would’ve gotten gray hair!
